Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun welcomed the visit and stated that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, the China–Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has deepened significantly, with cooperation across multiple sectors continuously expanding.
He said: “This year marks the 30th anniversary of the China–Russia strategic partnership of coordination, the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, and the launch of the China–Russia Education Year. Both sides will seize this opportunity to further deepen bilateral relations and elevate them to a new level, contributing greater stability and positive energy to the world.”
According to the Kremlin, during his stay in Beijing, President Putin will meet President Xi Jinping for talks on bilateral relations and global issues. He is also scheduled to meet Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other officials to discuss trade and economic cooperation.
Following the talks, President Putin and President Xi are expected to sign a joint statement aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties.
