At a customer event held on Sunday in Sam Son ward in Thanh Hoa province, the city has launched a four-season tourism development project and a 2026 low-season beach tourism development plan. It focuses not only on increasing visitor numbers but, more importantly, on extending stays, improving visitor satisfaction, and encouraging repeat visits.

Chairman of the Sam Son ward People’s Committee Trinh Tien Dung said: “The aim is to give visitors the opportunity to experience Sam Son beyond the summer and peak season, with each season offering its own beauty, experiences, and unique values, including cultural, spiritual, and wellness tourism. We want to transform Sam Son from a place primarily catering to beach goers into a diverse, high-quality destination for leisure, cultural experiences, entertainment, and events.”

Sam Son plans to pilot tours connecting the city with famous destinations across Thanh Hoa, including the Ho Dynasty Citadel, Lam Kinh and Cam Luong Fish Stream. It will also introduce new experiences for visitors, such as “Experience the Life of a Sam Son Fishing Village,” and a pedestrian street and night market, along with culinary, sports, cultural and entertainment programs in the remaining months of the year.

Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said: “Sam Son’s plan is in line with the tourism sector’s long-standing efforts to address the seasonality of coastal destinations in northern Vietnam. We hope Sam Son will develop tourism products that meet the needs of both international and domestic visitors, encouraging tourists to visit and experience Sam Son even in winter. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will continue to work with Thanh Hoa Province and Sam Son to develop tourism products that meet visitors’ needs and offer the experiences they are looking for.”

On this occasion, Sam Son ward launched the iSamSon.vn website, an official information channel promoting the destination and showcasing local tourism products, services and events.
