During the visit, he will co-chair the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP).

The two sides agreed to establish the mechanism during Party General Secretary and President To Lam’s state visit to Singapore in May.

Mr. Tu’s trip marks the first official visit to Singapore by a Standing Member of the Secretariat. Vietnam is also the first Southeast Asian country to establish a Strategic Dialogue mechanism with the PAP.

The visit reflects a new development in relations between the two parties and is expected to provide momentum for deepening the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
