At a working session with press agencies on Thursday in Hanoi, Mr. Quyet said that as the strong development of social media and artificial intelligence (AI) places higher demands on press agencies, the press must be sharp, incisive, fast, and proactive to keep up with these demands. Press agencies must strengthen their presence and promote the role of journalism in the digital space, effectively bringing the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies to the people.
The press should continue to play its role as a source of official, timely, and accurate information, help the public distinguish between true and false information, and fight against fake news, harmful and toxic information on the internet. The senior Party official requested that press agencies continue to innovate their methods to produce more impactful journalistic works and communication programs that vividly reflect real life, spread positive values and inspire dedication in society.
“We must firmly hold the front line in protecting the Party's ideological foundation and tighten information discipline. The strategic direction set by the Party Central Committee is to enhance the country's resilience – shifting from passive refutation to proactive action, cyberspace domination, offensiveness, sharpness, and timeliness with convincing evidence based on facts,” Mr. Quyet added.
VOV President Do Tien Sy told the meeting, "following the directives of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) is actively preparing a specialized music channel. It will focus on classical music and is expected to begin trial broadcasts in early September. VOV hopes to continue receiving cooperation and support from ministries and agencies during the implementation process.'
