In June, Soi Sim was named one of the world’s 100 best beaches by the US-based travel guide Corona Beach 100. It was the only beach in Vietnam to make the list.
Soi Sim covers about 8.7 hectares and is home to a forest ecosystem with numerous plant species native to Ha Long Bay.
The beach is known for its hillsides, which are covered with mature rose myrtle trees. Rose myrtles, known as “sim” flowers in Vietnamese, bloom around May each year and give “Soi Sim” its name.
