South Korea rules out war on Korean Peninsula

(VOVWORLD) - South Korea cannot accept war as an option in dealing with the North Korean nuclear threat, a senior Seoul diplomat said in the wake of Pyongyang's sixth and most powerful atomic test.

At a forum in Washington on Tuesday, Korea’s Second Deputy Foreign Minister Cho Hyun emphasized the need for dialogue with North Korea, noting that there are two types – one aimed at the North's denuclearization and the other at easing cross-border military tensions and addressing humanitarian issues.
