As digital banking continues to grow, the banking sector is strengthening digital trust through three layers of protection. The first is to verify biometric data with the national population database. The second is to verify customers and their consent in online transactions. The third is to build a database of payment accounts, e-wallets, bank cards and payment providers suspected of fraud or scams. Customers will also get warnings about risky money transfers.

Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Tien Dung said that banking digital transformation aims to make better use of data and AI to develop smart banking services. "This will make banking safer, more convenient and less costly, with simpler and faster procedures, while supporting overall economic growth."

The two-day event is taking place at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center. The fifth event of its kind reviews the banking sector’s digital transformation through 2025 and sets goals for 2030.
