Syrian liberates Deir Ezzor from ISIS

(VOVWORLD) - The Syrian Army and allied forces on Thursday regained control of the city of Deir Ezzor from the Islamic State (ISIS), according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

SOHR Director Rami Abdel Rahman said combat is complete and Syria is clearing landmines and bombs from the city. A military source said the Syrian government has claimed control of 80% of Deir Ezzor.
