The event from April 27 to May 2 will promote international exchange and local tourism and socio-economic development. It will welcome artists from across Vietnam and 21 other countries. Highlights of this year’s festival will be the vividly decorated Hue Imperial Palace, a venue of an art program combining singing, dancing, drama, poetry recitation, sound effects, lighting, and fireworks. The festival will also include a competition of “chầu văn” singing which accompanies trance ritual, an art program honoring Buddhism, a music night to remember late song writer Trinh Cong Son, and cuisine and trade fairs.
