The event was jointly organized by the ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN (ERIA).
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong, who is also Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo, said ASEAN Community has become a model for successful regional cooperation in 3 key areas – politics and security, economic integration, and institution building. He described Japan as one of the leading strategic partners of ASEAN.
Participants analyzed the achievements and lessons of ASEAN, and envisioned the prospects for the growing relationship between Japan and ASEAN in the next decades.
