Under the decisions, Pham Binh Dam, Director General of the APEC 2027 National Secretariat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Timor-Leste.
Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Director General of the Department of Middle East and Africa, is appointed Ambassador of Vietnam to Angola, concurrently accredited to Congo, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, and Cabo Verde.
General Secretary and President Lam urged the two ambassadors to deepen relations between Vietnam and Timor-Leste, Angola, and the countries of concurrent accreditation. These are two important locations across their respective regions, offering significant potential and ample room for cooperation, he added.
"The Party and the State consistently prioritize refining the institutions, mechanisms, policies, and operational conditions for foreign affairs. However, ultimate success hinges on implementation—particularly the role of ambassadors, who serve as the nation's highest representatives on the diplomatic front line."
"With the Fatherland standing behind you, you face immense responsibilities. I am confident that, through your character and competence, you will successfully fulfill these vital duties, helping to maintain a peaceful environment, safeguard national interests, leverage external resources and opportunities, and elevate Vietnam’s stature globally,” Mr. Lam said.
