Speaking at the meeting, the Vietnamese top leader highlighted the important and long-term significance of the results achieved in implementing Conclusion 21. He said the Party’s policies had been pursued consistently, resolutely and comprehensively, helping strengthen discipline, order and accountability.
The fight against corruption, waste and other negative practices has also been intensified under the principle of “no forbidden zones and no exceptions.”
According to Mr. Lam, the most significant achievement has been fulfilling the task of advancing national development while strengthening the people’s confidence in the Party. He said this demonstrates the Party’s leadership and governance capacity.
"It is necessary to consistently view Party building and rectification as a regular task of every Party committee and Party organization. Officials and Party members, especially heads of agencies and advisory bodies, cannot do the work on behalf of Party committees. ‘Building’ and ‘combating’ must go hand in hand. Prevention, self-inspection and early self-correction are fundamental. Authority must be matched with responsibility; inspections must lead to corrective action; and addressing violations must also involve fixing loopholes in mechanisms and policies. The quality of leadership, development effectiveness and people’s confidence are the most important measures,” said the top leader.
Mr. Lam called for a comprehensive and feasible resolution that can bring about strong changes, enhance the Party’s leadership and governance capacity, and meet the country’s development requirements in the new period.
