Speaking at a national conference on implementing resolutions adopted at the 4th plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee, Mr. Lam called for linking Party building and rectification with reforms in leadership methods and stronger capacity to put policies into practice.
“As the ruling party leading the State and society, the Party is accountable to the people for its decisions and leadership outcomes. Studying and implementing the resolutions requires every Party committee and every Party member to seriously examine why, despite sound policies, work is still progressing slowly, resources remain underutilized, and responsibilities are not being fully discharged,” said Party leader and President Lam.
“We must identify the causes and address them by improving leadership methods, the quality of policy advice, personnel appointments, and implementation. The effectiveness of Party building and rectification must be measured by results in national development and defense and improvements in people’s lives,” he noted.
The new resolutions focus on Party building and rectification, strengthening the political system, renewing the Party’s leadership and governance methods, and developing a team of capable, trusted officials.
The conference also addressed regulations on Party members’ participation in investment and business activities and a national strategy to attract, develop, and use talent in key sectors to support rapid, sustainable development. It also reviewed a report on socioeconomic development and state budget implementation in 2026, along with the socioeconomic development plan and state budget estimates for 2027.
