The top leader, who is Secretary of the Central Military Commission, chaired the third conference of the commission for the 2025–2030 tenure in Hanoi on Wednesday to review military and defense tasks in the third quarter and set priorities for the remainder of the year.
General Secretary and President Lam called for proactive and thorough preparations to successfully organize the third Vietnam International Defense Exhibition in 2026. This will help promote the image and elevate the international standing and prestige of the Vietnam People's Army and the country. He also called close coordination to effectively carry out tasks in preparation for the 2027 APEC Summit.
In his remarks, the General Secretary and President commended the results achieved in the third quarter. He emphasized that the fourth quarter is pivotal for successfully completing the tasks of 2026—the inaugural year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress. He urged the Central Military Commission to focus its leadership and direction on the vigorous implementation of solutions, demonstrating a determination to comprehensively achieve the goals and tasks for 2026 with the best possible results.
Mr. Lam underscored the need for active innovation to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of measures aimed at building a politically strong military and a clean, comprehensively strong Party organization within the military. He called for consistent excellence in political and ideological education and the strengthening of political steadfastness.
The top leader also emphasized the importance of effectively carrying out policy work and mass mobilization, particularly the vigorous execution of the "500 days and nights to accelerate the search, repatriation, and identification of martyrs' remains" campaign, ensuring the fastest, most effective, and safest outcomes. Furthermore, he directed the high-quality completion of tasks related to logistics, technical support, finance, the defense economy, administrative reform, and digital transformation.
