The city targets to grow 30,000 trees from now to 2021. Secretary of Da Nang city’s Youth Union Nguyen Duy Minh said: “The tree planting festival helps improve young people’s awareness of protecting the environment to make Da Nang greener and more beautiful. Da Nang is a coastal city which is facing climate change consequences and sea level rise. Planting trees will help prevent sea water intrusion.”
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, and Bac Ninh province co-organized a program to grow 57,000 trees in the province.
