Koretskyi’s nomination, submitted by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was supported by 289 lawmakers, surpassing the minimum number of votes required.
Last Sunday, President Zelenskyy announced plans for a government reshuffle to reflect what he described as a change in the country's political strategy. On Tuesday, lawmakers voted to dismiss Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and her entire cabinet.
Addressing the parliament, Koretskyi said his priorities are preparing the country for the winter and supporting business for economic stability. He noted that Ukraine's resilience rests on two pillars – its armed forces and its people, who “despite all the horrors of conflict, continue to live here, work, and rebuild what has been destroyed.”
