UN calls emergency meeting on Syria

(VOVWORLD) -The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting Thursday to discuss the Syrian army’s offensive against groups of insurgents in southwestern Syria that has forced some 300,000 people to flee to their homes.

Sweden, who holds the rotating Security Council presidency, along with Kuwait requested the closed-door meeting.
