Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said the US had completed its troop withdrawal from Iraq under an agreement between Baghdad and Washington two days ahead of the Wednesday deadline.
The Iraqi government will now assume full responsibility for its own security, but the two sides will continue security and defense cooperation under the bilateral agreement.
Italy’s Defense Ministry said it has completed its withdrawal from Iraq, ending its 12-year military presence there.
