Mexican Ambassador to the US Geronimo Gutierrez on Thursday sent a note to the US State Department requesting an explanation.
President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday deploying 4,000 National Guard troops to the US-Mexico border to help control illegal immigration and drug smuggling into the US. The Mexican Foreign Ministry said it will stay in contact with US authorities to ensure border security.
