Tillerson will attend the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the South-East Asia Ministerial Conference, the ASEAN–US conference, and the Lower Mekong Initiative Ministerial Meeting (LMI) in Manila. High on the agenda will be Korean Peninsula denuclearization, maritime security, and fighting terrorism.

Tillerson will visit Thailand and Malaysia to discuss regional issues and foster bilateral ties. The visits aim to expand and reinforce US security and economic boons in the Asia-Pacific region.
