At the working session with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer

Mr. Hue urged the US to recognize Vietnam’s market economy, deal with anti-dumping and anti-subsidy lawsuits against Vietnamese shrimp, washing machines, solar panels and woven sacks, and exempt tariffs on Vietnamese steel and aluminum products.

At a meeting with Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky, a former US Trade Representative who signed the Vietnam-US Bilateral Trade Agreement in 2000, Mr. Hue lauded the contributions Barshefsky has made to bilateral ties.

He urged Barshefsky to continue supporting development cooperation between the two countries, especially in economy, trade, investment, to strengthen the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership.
