The delegation will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, where it will focus on promoting business opportunities and expanding export markets for US agricultural products. The program will include business-to-business meetings, site visits. and networking events to connect US exporters with potential partners in Vietnam and Cambodia.

The USDA said Vietnam is the 7th largest export market for US agricultural products, with exports valued at 5.6 billion USD. The US is Vietnam's 2nd largest supplier of agricultural goods.

With a population of more than 100 million, rising incomes, and strong economic growth, Vietnam is seen as a promising market for US agricultural businesses. Sectors expected to offer significant opportunities include fresh fruit, dairy and poultry products, animal feed, cotton, and seafood.

The USDA said younger Vietnamese consumers are placing greater emphasis on health and wellness, creating a growing demand for "free-from" and "better-for-you" products from America.
