Speaking on national television on Thursday, Rodríguez said professional rescue teams coordinated by the United Nations are on their way to Venezuela to assist in search-and-rescue operations and help locate survivors trapped under debris.

She also announced that the government would establish a reconstruction fund with an initial allocation of 200 million USD to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in affected areas.

Countries across the region have expressed readiness to deploy emergency personnel and provide essential supplies. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington would immediately send search-and-rescue teams, medical resources and humanitarian assistance to Venezuela.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, France, Spain and Switzerland announced plans to dispatch dozens of rescue workers and military personnel. Switzerland is preparing to send 18 tons of rescue equipment, while Germany will deploy six military transport aircraft to support relief operations.

Other countries, including China, India and Israel, have also offered assistance to Venezuela.
