Kyrgyzstan, which holds the SCO rotating presidency for 2025–2026, invited Vietnam to the summit, reflecting its recognition of Vietnam’s role, stature and contributions to regional and international affairs.
Nguyen Thanh Le, Vietnamese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and resident Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Nguyen Thanh Le, said the visit is significant both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Authorized by Party General Secretary and President To Lam, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan will attend the SCO extended summit as a guest and hold a series of bilateral meetings in Kyrgyzstan.
At the summit, Vietnam is expected to exchange views with other countries on regional and international developments, as well as issues related to peace, security and development. Vietnam will contribute constructively to efforts to address global challenges and non-traditional security threats, and reaffirm its commitment to multilateralism, international law, the UN Charter, dialogue and confidence-building.
On the sidelines of the summit, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan is also scheduled to meet with Kyrgyz leaders, heads of delegations and representatives of international organizations to strengthen relations, expand cooperation and mobilize resources for national development.
Vietnam’s participation in multilateral events at the invitation of international partners demonstrates the growing recognition of the country’s role, stature and credibility. It is also an opportunity for Vietnam to contribute ideas and initiatives to address common challenges, while strengthening its role as a bridge between ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union.
