Over a 6-week period from January 5 to February 20 the State of Southeast Asia 2026 Survey polled 2,000 experts, academics, business leaders, and policymakers from 11 Southeast Asian countries. Vietnam proved to be one of the most popular countries for respondents’ “relocation preference and travel choices”.

The four most preferred Asean member states to visit – Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam – were the same four preferred for relocation, though ranked differently.

Vietnam has consistently been recognized by international organizations and tourism awards for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, low travel costs, and improving tourism infrastructure.

In April, Vietnam received 2 million international travelers, bringing the total visitors in the first four months to 8.8 million, up 15% year on year.
