Speaking at the annual session of the UN Women Executive Board in New York, Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Delegation to the United Nations, said support programs should be practical, relevant and tailored to country-specific circumstances.
The three-day meeting reviewed UN Women’s annual report, assessed progress under its 2022–2025 strategic plan and launched the next four-year strategy.
Ambassador Viet called for continued investment in areas with lasting impact, including women’s economic empowerment and stronger participation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
He also stressed that UN reform efforts should be evidence-based and adequately resourced, while drawing lessons from initiatives such as Vietnam’s Delivering as One program to strengthen coordination and effectiveness across the UN system.
