Trinh Van Quyet, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, met Australian Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Matt Thistlethwaite in Canberra on Tuesday, during Party General Secretary and President To Lam’s State visit.
Mr. Quyet called for stronger cooperation between press, media and external information agencies, including journalist exchanges and the sharing of radio, television and digital content. He also proposed greater collaboration in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and information-space governance.
The Vietnamese official highlighted the role of the Vietnamese community and younger generations in strengthening bilateral ties, while encouraging closer media coordination to promote trade, investment and Vietnamese products.
Thistlethwaite said there was significant potential to expand bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed Australia’s readiness to work more closely with Vietnam in AI, cybersecurity and education.
