During the meeting, Finance Minister Tuan acknowledged SunRice’s operations and long-term commitment to Vietnam. He welcomed the Group’s plans to explore investment expansion, connect with Vietnamese farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises, and develop processing, storage, and traceability capabilities to enhance the value of Vietnamese rice products.
The Minister emphasized that as Vietnam is promoting the development of a modern, green, circular, and low-emission agricultural sector, he encouraged SunRice to deepen cooperation with Vietnam. Areas of cooperation include high-quality, low-emission rice production; the application of science, technology, and digital transformation; deep processing; research and technical transfer; and the utilization of agricultural by-products in line with circular economy principles.
Both sides agreed to continue boosting long-term, scalable cooperation programs. These initiatives aim to enhance the value and competitiveness of Vietnam’s rice industry, while strengthening the partnership between Vietnam and Australia in agriculture, science and technology, green development, and food security.
