President Khuon Sudary welcomed the outcomes of the talks between the two Prime Ministers and the signing and exchange of bilateral cooperation documents. The two leaders agreed to support ASEAN’s central role, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
They also highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges, particularly among young people, in deepening understanding of the history of solidarity and friendship between the two countries and encouraging future generations to preserve these ties.
In a meeting with President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen the same day, PM Hung commended Mr. Hun Sen’s important role and contributions, expressing confidence that these achievements would lay the groundwork for Cambodia to successfully implement the first phase of its Pentagonal Strategy and continue building a prosperous nation.
He congratulated Cambodia on successfully hosting the Second Interparliamentary Speakers’ Conference and affirmed that Vietnam would work closely with and support Cambodia in successfully hosting the 20th Francophonie Summit next month.
The two leaders agreed to continue making full use of existing cooperation mechanisms across all channels, including meetings between the two Parties, promote exchanges between young leaders and youth, and expand cooperation between their legislative, executive and judicial bodies, people’s organisations and localities.
