At a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for visiting Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary, Mr. Lam called on both sides to further strengthen cooperation through Party, parliamentary, and government channels.

The two sides underscored the strategic significance of relations between the two Parties and countries, as well as among Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos in the current context. They highlighted the importance of political trust, close defense and security cooperation, economic connectivity, and strong people-to-people exchanges.

They also stressed the leading role of the Parties in shaping the strategic direction of bilateral and trilateral relations. Both sides agreed on the need to make effective use of existing cooperation mechanisms, particularly meetings among the three Prime Ministers, the three heads of parliament, and the ministers responsible for defense, public security, and foreign affairs of the three countries.

The two leaders further agreed to maintain close coordination and mutual support at regional and international forums. Party General Secretary and State President To Lam reaffirmed Vietnam’s readiness to work with other ASEAN members to advance the bloc’s efforts, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, development, ASEAN unity, and the grouping’s central role in the regional architecture.
