Prime Minister Hung reaffirmed that Vietnam considers Canada an important partner and highlighted the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership or CPTPP's role in doubling bilateral trade over the past five years.
He proposed expanding market access for Vietnamese agricultural, forestry, and seafood products, encouraging Canadian investment in green and strategic industries, and strengthening cooperation in AI, quantum technology, semiconductor development, and skilled workforce training.
Prime Minister Carney described Vietnam as a key Canadian partner in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific, expressing support for closer collaboration in sustainable development, energy, aerospace, agriculture, science, technology, direct air links, and people-to-people exchanges.
