During phone talks with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand on Saturday, Minister Trung proposed that the two sides continue close coordination to advance bilateral ties as agreed by their leaders and further strengthen political trust through exchanges at all levels and via various channels, with priority given to high-level visits.

He called for greater efforts to deepen economic connectivity and strengthen links among the Vietnam-ASEAN-Canada-North America supply chains.

Minister Anand reaffirmed that Canada considers Vietnam an important partner in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific region.

She agreed on the need to enhance coordination and expand cooperation in areas that match the two sides’ strengths and complementary needs. She encouraged ministries, sectors, localities, and businesses from both countries to strengthen connectivity and proactively propose specific cooperation initiatives and projects.
