Visiting Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Corporation and Caseamex, a seafood company, in Can Tho city on Tuesday, President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire Patrick Achi told National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man that Africa, particularly West Africa, is a potential market for Vietnamese products and technologies.
He said Côte d’Ivoire wants to import seafood products from Vietnam and attract Vietnamese investment in equipment and technology transfer, helping strengthen fish supplies for Côte d’Ivoire and the wider West African market.
Mr. Achi expressed hope that Vietnam would be among the first countries to establish a strong presence in Côte d’Ivoire, allowing its businesses to capitalize on opportunities in trade, investment and production.
“I will continue to maintain direct contact with National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and promote dialogue between our President and Party General Secretary and President To Lam. During my meeting with Mr. Lam, he spoke about Vietnam’s vision of becoming a developed country by 2045. To achieve that goal, Vietnam will need to access major markets. Our country has the potential to become an important market for Vietnam,” said Mr. Archi.
The top legislator of Côte d’Ivoire urged relevant agencies of both countries to step up exchanges and further strengthen substantive and effective cooperation, particularly in the agricultural sector.
