Thai An, a Hanoi resident, could hardly contain her excitement, “I’m extremely proud that Vietnam have won the championship. The atmosphere here is incredible, full of emotion and patriotism. This is probably one of the days when the largest number of people have taken to the streets to celebrate.”
At Nguyen Hue Walking Street in Ho Chi Minh City, fans chanted “Vietnam are champions!” and “Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh!”
“The atmosphere is vibrant and full of energy. Everyone is passionately cheering for the players. Honestly, I don’t think there’s any country where people love football more than Vietnam,” said Nguyen Thi Thanh.
Meanwhile, in Da Nang City, national flags and banners reading “Vietnam are champions” filled the streets, creating a sea of red.
“I’m very happy that Vietnam have successfully retained the ASEAN Cup title. I hope that not only this year, but in future tournaments as well, the national team will continue to achieve victories like this,” Do Khanh Quoc shared his feelings.
