The two sides noted that Vietnam-EU relations have continued to develop, particularly since the elevation of bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in January 2026.
They agreed to fully and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), facilitate trade and investment, and better tap the complementary strengths of the two economies. They also committed to strengthening connections among programs, resources and specific projects under the EU’s Global Gateway initiative and Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), particularly in green infrastructure, clean energy and sustainable value chains.
The two sides also agreed to enhance coordination at international forums, uphold ASEAN’s central role, and advance maritime cooperation.
Regarding the East Sea, they stressed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight as well as the resolution of disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).
