Following a decade of negotiations, Vietnam received a license in September, becoming the first and only country allowed to sell fresh star apples to the US. Lo Ren Vinh Kim star apples of Tien Giang province need to meet strict requirements of cultivation, packaging, and quarantine to enter the US market.
Lo Ren Vinh Kim star apples were certified under the Global GAP standard in 2008.
