Mr. Infantino, who was in Hanoi to attend the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand, affirmed FIFA’s readiness to provide maximum assistance to Vietnam’s football development.
Party leader and President Lam asked FIFA to help Vietnam host tournaments under the FIFA system and continue assisting Vietnam in training coaches and referees, strengthening professional expertise and football management capacity, while promoting women’s, school and community football, as well as professional leagues and national teams.
The FIFA President said the organization was ready to accompany Vietnam and share its experience, providing assistance in infrastructure, technical expertise and training for community and youth football, while helping strengthen football management and infrastructure in the coming period.
