The ceremony, hosted by Consul General Pham Hai Anh, brought together nearly 200 guests, including Western Australia Premier Roger Cook, Minister for Agriculture and Food; Forestry and Small Business Jackie Jarvis, and the Consuls General of Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, India and the United Kingdom.

Addressing the event, Consul General Hai Anh recalled the historic significance of September 2, 1945, which marked the beginning of a new era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.

Vietnam has now established diplomatic relations with 194 countries, maintains trade and investment ties with 230 countries and territories, and is a member of 17 free trade agreements. Its GDP grew by 8.02% in 2025, with the economy reaching around 514 billion USD and GDP per capita hitting 5,026 USD. These figures place Vietnam among upper-middle-income countries and the world’s top 20 trading economies, Mr. Hai Anh said.
