The PM made the remarks during a reception in Hanoi for Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from Friday to Sunday.

PM Hung stressed the need to enhance business connectivity and broaden cooperation in the maritime economy, port development, shipping, logistics, shipbuilding, and maritime workforce training. He affirmed that Vietnam is ready to facilitate long-term investment by Greek businesses.

The PM urged Greece to continue encouraging the remaining European Union member states to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) at an early date. He also called on Greece to support efforts within the European Commission to lift the IUU “yellow card” imposed on Vietnamese seafood exports.

Minister Gerapetritis said Greece would send a business delegation to Vietnam to explore investment and cooperation opportunities. He also reaffirmed Greece’s support for removing Vietnam from the European Union’s list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions.
