Speaking at the event, billionaire Eric Schmidt, former Chairman and CEO of Google, and former Chairman of the US National Security Commission on AI (NSCAI), said Vietnam has strong potential to become a future leader in AI, thanks to its high-quality human resources and outstanding achievements in the International Mathematical Olympiad.

He pledged support for Vietnam in establishing a private AI investment fund, strengthening links between Vietnamese businesses and global talent, and providing scholarships for students in technology-related fields.

Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the NIC, said attracting leading global investment funds, scientists, and technology experts to Vietnam is one of the center’s top priorities in building a dynamic innovation ecosystem.

Vietnam also aims to nurture a generation of technology businesses capable of competing internationally, particularly in emerging sectors such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, robotics, UAVs, digital technology, and green technology.
