During the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue and consultation mechanisms and to hold the 16th Vietnam-India Defense Policy Dialogue in India in early 2027 to enhance mutual understanding and guide the development of bilateral defense relations.

They also agreed to expand cooperation into new areas—such as training, UN peacekeeping, and the defense industry—and to advance the implementation of credit and non-refundable aid packages.

Both stressed the need to explore potential collaboration in fields like cybersecurity, military medicine, and search and rescue operations. Furthermore, the two sides committed to close coordination within the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus (ADMM+) framework, aiming to successfully co-chair the ADMM+ Experts' Working Group on Cybersecurity for the 2027–2030 cycle.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang expressed his wish to welcome a high-level delegation from the Indian Ministry of National Defense and military, along with Indian defense enterprises, to Vietnam for the 3rd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition, scheduled for December 10–13, 2026, in Hanoi.
