In an interview with VOV’s New Delhi correspondent, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai said the visit is of historic importance, marking the first time a Vietnamese Party leader and President has made a State visit to India.

“The visit coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. It is expected to create new momentum, open up broader cooperation opportunities, and elevate the partnership in a new era, in line with the potential and standing of both countries regionally and globally,” he said.

Ambassador Hai noted both countries prioritize strengthening cooperation in innovation to support Vietnam’s goal of becoming a developed country by 2045 and India’s by 2047. The two sides will also continue to expand cooperation in trade and investment, while promoting people-to-people exchanges, culture, education, and tourism.
