Mr. Thang said the two sides have continued to effectively maintain cooperation mechanisms such as deputy minister-level defense policy dialogues, staff officer consultations among the navy, army, and air force, and cooperation in training, defense industry, technology transfer, and war consequence remediation.

Deputy Minister Thang proposed that Ambassador Naoki continue to support and direct the implementation of Vietnam–Japan defense cooperation in military medicine, cybersecurity, United Nations peacekeeping operations, and mutual support at multilateral mechanisms and forums, especially at the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM+).

The Ambassador applauded the cooperative relationship between Japan and Vietnam, underlining defense cooperation as an important pillar. He expressed hope that both sides would continue implementing cooperation agreements, building on the positive outcomes of Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae’s recent official visit to Vietnam, thereby further promoting their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the world.
