He said such cooperation is particularly important as Vietnam has recently completed a one-year review of its two-tier local government model, while Laos is carrying out reforms to streamline its central-level apparatus and re-establish commune-level administrations.
Mr. Lam made the remarks while receiving Sisay Leudetmounsone, Head of the Lao Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, in Hanoi on Wednesday.
Ms. Sisay Leudetmounsone said the commission would continue working closely with its Vietnamese counterpart and Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs to effectively implement the agreements reached by the two countries’ senior leaders.
She expressed confidence that these efforts would further deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos.
