70 years ago, on July 17, 1956, the General Political Department issued a decision to establish the Army Museum Construction Board, the predecessor of the Vietnam Military History Museum.

The Museum’s leadership and staff have throughout the years excellently fulfilled all assigned tasks, developing the Vietnam Military History Museum into "a multi-functional, comprehensive, and exemplary cultural institution of the Army and the Nation".

The Vietnam Military History Museum has been awarded many prestigious awards by the Party and the State. On the 70th anniversary of its founding, the Museum was honored to receive the Fatherland Defense Order, third class.
