Ambassador Dung said dialogues between the government and related individuals and organizations and between the government and human rights mechanisms are fundamental in the promotion and protection of human rights. He said the Vietnamese government regrets the lack of a constructive attitude on the part of those experts.

In November, the Research Center for Gender, Family, and Environment in Development (CGFED) in Hanoi and Sweden's IPEN, released a report stating that female laborers working in Samsung factories in Vietnam suffered adverse health impacts associated with inappropriate working conditions.

Samsung rejected the report’s content, which was based on interviews with just 45 of more than 100,000 Samsung workers, and raised questions about the report's objectivity and methodology.
