This is Mr. To Lam’s first official visit to the EU and Belgium since the 14th National Party Congress and the 16th National Assembly.

The EU visit creates an opportunity to deepen cooperation in key areas, particularly trade, investment, science and technology, and human resource development, with the aim of making Vietnam-EU relations a model for ASEAN-EU cooperation.

In Belgium, the two sides are expected to advance cooperation in areas where Belgium has strengths and Vietnam has identified priorities, including science and technology, semiconductors, renewable energy, green agriculture, innovation, logistics and smart seaports.
