The Meeting, themed “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainable Development,” opened under the chairmanship of the Indian Foreign Minister, the BRICS Chair in 2026.
Deputy FM Hang proposed multiple directions for cooperation between BRICS and partner countries. She called on countries to strengthen energy security cooperation, enhance the resilience of supply chains for essential products, develop logistics infrastructure and intercontinental connectivity, and ensure freedom and safety of maritime and air navigation.
In addition, Hang said, cooperation must ensure the smooth flow of trade and investment, and promote cooperation in science and technology and digital transformation. She stressed the need to create a new development ecosystem through breakthroughs in institutions and governance, with people as the main actors and driving force. The Vietnamese senior diplomat encouraged the sharing of experiences and development models, and cooperation in specific areas such as food security, water resources, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.
The Meeting continued on Friday with a discussion session on “Reforming the Multilateral System and Global Governance”.
