The proposal was made at the International Conference on Combating Online Scams (ICCOS) 2026, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, attended by delegations from 27 countries and six international organizations. The two-day conference is themed "Acting Together towards Breaking the Chain and Eradication of Online Scams."
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Long said online fraud is a global issue, not one confined to a single nation. He urged countries to focus on three key directions. First is regularly exchanging and sharing experiences and effective prevention models. Second is refining legal frameworks and strengthening cybersecurity. And third is establishing mechanisms for rapid, continuous coordination among competent authorities.
