Delivering a keynote speech at the SCO Plus Summit in Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday, Ms. Xuan said the SCO has become an important cooperation mechanism in the Eurasian region, contributing to efforts to address common regional and global challenges.
Vietnam wishes to work with the SCO to strengthen dialogue and mutual trust, uphold multilateralism, international law and the UN Charter, and step up cooperation in combating terrorism, transnational crime and cybercrime.
Hanoi also seeks to promote cooperation in economics, investment, science, innovation and high-quality human resource development, particularly in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and quantum technology.
At the same time, Vietnam is ready to serve as a bridge between ASEAN and the SCO, promoting stronger links between Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the broader Eurasian region, Vice President Xuan said.
On the sidelines of the summit, Ms. Xuan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, among other leaders.
